We’re on the lookout for a Social Media Developer — someone who loves both code and content, knows the ins and outs of mainstream (and not-so-mainstream) social APIs, and has ideas for building experiences that break the feed in the best way possible.

You’ll help us onboard new clients “the right way”, automate their content lifecycles, and build custom tools, bots, or integrations that turn social engagement into something extraordinary. If you think API docs are bedtime stories and automation is art — you belong here.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

🔗 Platform Expertise & Integrations

Master the nuances of top platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest — plus hidden gems and up-and-coming communities.
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot social media API integrations for publishing, analytics, and audience engagement.
Leverage OpenAI and other cutting-edge AI APIs to automate content generation, moderation, or dynamic interactions where appropriate.
Stay updated on platform policy changes and build future-proof, compliant solutions.

⚙️ Content Automation & Full-Stack Development

Design and implement automation workflows for posting, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting — using APIs, webhooks, and clever middleware.
Build custom tools or dashboards for clients and internal teams to simplify social content pipelines.
Contribute to backend systems (Node.js, Python, or similar) and frontend interfaces (React, Vue, or similar).

✨ Onboarding & Bespoke Experiences

Collaborate with the Solutions Architecture crew to onboard new clients smoothly, ensuring their social presence is properly integrated and primed for automation.
Develop unique, branded social experiences: think bots, AR filters, memes at scale — whatever fits the brief and pushes the envelope.
Troubleshoot integration hiccups and provide technical support during launch phases.

🗂️ Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration

Advocate for best practices, smart automation, and ethical social engagement.
Share knowledge with fellow devs, creatives, and strategists.
Contribute ideas to refine Island Pitch’s suite of automation and social tools.

📚 Qualifications

Required:

2+ years working with social media platform APIs (Facebook Graph API, Instagram Basic & Graph, Twitter/X API, YouTube Data API, TikTok for Developers, LinkedIn, etc.)
Hands-on experience with backend development (Node.js, Python, or similar).
Solid JavaScript/TypeScript skills and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks.
Comfortable with OAuth flows, webhooks, and data handling.
Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Make.com, Zapier, custom integrations).

Desired:

Experience developing social bots, smart schedulers, or custom dashboards.
Understanding of content marketing workflows and social strategy basics.
Creative Technologist mindset — you see stories, not just endpoints.
Familiarity with analytics APIs and integrating insights into dashboards.
