As a Scrum Master at Island Pitch, you will be pivotal in guiding our Crew Members on the Agile methodology with an emphasis on Scrum practices. You will ensure team efficiency and effectiveness and foster a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality software solutions. It is your responsibility to facilitate the movement of tickets through the stages from newly reported to actionable & delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies:

Facilitate scrum ceremonies, daily stand-ups, sprint plannings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Ensure all team members are kept informed of processes and timelines to foster collaboration.

Coach and Mentor:

Coach team members in Agile frameworks and practices.
Mentor teams to self-organize and create high-value products.
Help the team focus on creating high-value increments that meet the definition of done.
Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

Stakeholder Communication & Remove Impediments:

Identify and remove impediments to the Scrum Team’s progress.
Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions to maximize productivity.
Act as a liaison between the development team and product owner as well as stakeholders.

Facilitate communication and information exchange between external groups and the team.

Continuous Improvement:

Promote quality and innovation and encourage the team to improve its processes.
Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to all affected parties.
Write and improve documentation iteratively for process and use of tools for Agile

Qualifications:

Required:

Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or similar certification.
Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role with a solid understanding of scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, story point estimation, automated testing, backlog refinement).
Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.
Strong analytical and planning skills and a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs.
Experience with Agile software development tools. (Jira, Confluence, Miro)

Desired:

Experience in a scaled Agile environment (SAFe, LESS).
Knowledge of other Agile methodologies like Kanban, XP, etc.
Experience with software development in a variety of programming languages.
Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, Miro, Google Drive
ChatGPT (and similar experience)
